BOB MARLEY BIRTH PLACE/MAUSOLEUM & DUNN'S RIVER FALLS
You
are transported from your hotel by our professional tour-driver
who will show you the places of interest as you travel the north
coast along the sea coast area. As you go through the many country
villages on your way to Nine Mile, birth place of our reggae king
Bob Marley.
Nine
Miles is a quaint little village tucked away in the beautiful mountains
of St. Ann Jamaica. It is here, on February 6, 1945 the legendary
king of reggae was born and it is in this very same place that he
was laid to rest. On reaching Nine Mile, you’ll experience
the pleasant, friendly ‘vibes’ that influenced Bob Marley
for songs such as ‘One Love” and “Three Little
Birds”.
The
actual tour starts with a walk through the very same house that
Bob lived in as a young boy (now a memorabilia and photo gallery).
Your Rastafarian guide will share with you little known insights
into the Bob Marley’s childhood and musical career.
You’ll even have a chance to stand on ‘Mount Zion Rock’
(Bob’s meditation spot). Rest your head on the ‘pillow’
made famous in the song “Talking Blues”. The highlight
of the tour is of course walking through the beautiful mausoleum,
Bob’s final resting place.
After
leaving the mausoleum you are now toured through the valleys and
mountains of Jamaica towards our second resort city, Ocho Rios,
named by the Spaniards, as it contains eight rivers. You’ll
be taken to Jamaica’s premier water falls, namely Dunn’s
River. You can choose to swim in the ocean or climb these majestic
600 ft. falls for picture taking. This is all left to you.
By the way part of the filming of the James Bond movie ‘Dr.
No’ was filmed here. Should there be time you will be taken
through the quaint village of Ocho Rios for sight seeing and shopping.
After this is completed you are leasurely on your way to your hotel.
ENJOY!
