All Stages Rally Jamaica
12/01/2009 - 12/31/2009 Kingston, Jamaica
The All Stages Rally Jamaica sees a field of 30-plus speedy motors
tackling a wide variety of terrain across the countryside of Jamaica,
finishing outside the Jamaica Tourist Board after a run through
the streets of New Kingston. Home-based teams are joined by others
from the Caribbean and Europe in a thrilling international line-up
of custom cars presented at the scrutineering session and Parc Expose
before the start of the race. Leg 1 starts at Petcom Naggo Head
in the early hours and includes Lydford and Reynolds. Leg 2 blasts
off from Petcom Portmore and includes Bog Walk, Wakefield and Bybrook.
In challenging circuits through verdant countryside, large crowds
come out to watch a thrilling contest.
Reggae Marathon
12/01/2009 - 12/31/2009 Negril, Jamaica
A two-day warm-up period with live music and entertainment gets
runners in the mood for the serious business of the marathon which
gets underway early in the morning of the third day. This is Jamaica's
premier international marathon event that attracts a mix of long
distance runners, sports enthusiasts and first time marathon runners.
It is a fun event with a full-time party mood helped along by live
reggae music. Both the marathon and half-marathon start at Long
Bay Beach Park, on Negril's 11km (7 miles) of white sandy beach.

Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival
1/01/2010 - 1/31/2010 Montego Bay, Jamaica
This festival showcases a range of genres including country, jazz,
reggae and R&B. Past artists have included John Legend, Shaggy,
James Ingram, Air Supply, Al Green, KEM, Morgan Heritage, Tami Chynn,
Richie Stephens and Bo Diddley. This top-level musical treat in
delightful surroundings always proves popular, and hungry concert-goers
can grab a bite to eat from the many booths offering Jamaican specialities
and products.
Rebel Salute
1/01/2010 - 1/31/2010 Port Kaiser, Jamaica
Top reggae man Tony Rebel has pulled off a coup by establishing
Rebel Salute - the only one-night Roots Reggae Festival in Jamaica,
and an event which now attracts upwards of 30,000 to this small
village on the south coast. Salute serves up a strict vegetarian
menu along with music from some of reggae's finest performers. Sizzla,
Tony Rebel, Luciano, Buju Banton, Beresford Hammond, Ziggy Marley
& the Melody Makers are just a few from the recent roll call.
The event is billed "An Inspiration for the Nation", and
the music plays until the early hours.
